What are the main differences between a Mac book pro and the Mac air book?
I just received the Mac book pro for Christmas. I’m curious about buying the Mac book air for my husband. What are your thoughts?

MacBook Pro: High end professional laptop capable of many things.
Macbook Air: A laptop for people who are looking for portability wrapped up into a High performance laptop.
Both have more or less the same connection ports apart from the macbook air does not have a Superdrive (DVD drive) and the screen size only goes up to 13 inches were as the MacBook Pro has a Superdrive and the screen size goes up to 17 inches. The fastest processor you can get in a MacBook Air is a 1.8 ghz intel i7. Were as the MacBook Pro can go up to a 2.5 ghz intel i7 processor. But dont let the MacBook Air slower processor put you off, for the Macbook Air uses something called Flash memory (This is what i would say is the major difference) instead of using a standard hard drive which is slow and less reliable Flash memory has no moving parts (Meaning less prone to failure) also all your information is stored into electronic chips (Like a Memory card or a pen drive) this makes retrieving information off them a lot faster meaning Faster boot up times or opening documents is a lot faster. Flash memory also gives MacBook Air the ability to remain in standby mode for up to 30 days.
