The New Apple Laptop
help connecting to the internet with new apple laptop?
Today i bought a Macbook Pro. I need a lot of help.
First, how do i connect ot the internet? all i have is a modem for the computer that i primarily use. should i buy a wireless router? and how do i connect that to whatever it is it needs to be connected to?
To connect to the internet if you are using a modem that is not wireless, you need to plug in a ethernet port into the ethernet port on the left side of the computer (this looks kinda like a phone jack), and you should be able to connect. If you are unsure of what a ethernet cable is, it is a blue cable and your modem may have come with one. I would recommend getting a wirless router so that you can move around your home without being plugged into the modem, to set up a wirless router the manufacturer should include directions, to connect to a wireless network there should be an icon in the menu bar (at top) that looks like a signal (it may be the third or fourth button on the menu bar) and you choose the network. That’s IT.
