Guide to Install Windows 7 on an iMac or Apple Computer

Windows 7 is the version of Microsoft operating systems which created for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, netbooks, tablet PCs, and media center PCs. Now you can install windows 7 on an iMac or apple computer. Here you can get details about how to install windows 7 on an Apple iMac.

Windows 7 requires Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard and the Boot Camp 3.1 Update. If you have apple iMac computer and want to install window 7, then first buy copy of window 7. Check out our guide to different Windows 7 versions before dropping $220 on the rather unnecessary “Ultimate” package, and don’t forget you can grab a student copy for $30 with an .edu e-mail address.

Second upgrade to boot camp 3, previous versions of Boot camp did not openly support window 7. But, recently, almost all version of Boot camp includes full support for Windows 7, which should save you from all these headaches. Simply go to the Apple menu on your Mac and select Software Update, which will grab the latest version for you.

Once you upgrade to boot camp 3.1then create new partition for widows 7 on your hard drive to install it. Open Boot Camp Assistant by looking in the Utilities folder under Applications. The intuitive software will walk you through the process, just make sure to create an NTFS partition, since you won’t be able to install Windows 7 on any other type, and make it a minimum of 16GB. With Boot Camp Assistant still open, choose the option to “Start the Windows installer.” You’ll need to pop that fresh, legally purchased copy of Windows 7 in the drive and click Continue to start installing.
