Can my apple ibook g4 14″ accept any other Laptop Hard Drive and ram?

Hi, I would like to swap my ibook g4 hard drive and ram with my other parts from my dell inspiron 6400.
Would it accept them or are there special ones only from apple which i would have to buy extra?

For the hard drive, perhaps, it depends on the connector (this is also relies on the HDD controller). If both notebooks have the same connector, e.g. both have SATA or both have IDE, then you are in luck to some degree, but just trying out the hard drive if it has the same connector may help. The RAM, well you can’t put the Dell’s RAM in to the iBook because its PC2-5300 and the iBook is PC-2700. But sadly, this doesn’t work vice versa either, because the Dell has DDR2 memory as opposed to the iBook’s DDR memory.

So the answer is, the RAM = defo no, the hard disk drive = perhaps.
